PRESS RELEASE 2 - MQMusicfest 2007: A SPECTACULAR 12-HOUR MUSIC MARATHON

MQMusicFest 2007 is on its way!

Metal Queen Management is pleased to announce the completion of its festival line-up with the addition of three new bands:

• Crackpuppy – Band motto “Everything we are and nothing we should be” sums up this bands approach. These Toronto based hard rockers like it loud and heavy. Drummer Johnny Rude is the co-owner of Rok Boutique, 200 Bathurst Street, Toronto, where MQMusicFest is holding its pre-festival party, on Saturday, August 18.

Recently described by Toronto.com as “New and Trendy”, the Rok Boutique is a stylish throwback to the glitzy eighties scene where hairspray ruled the day and real men wore pink. This downtown shrine to the likes of Motley Crue and G’n’R is the perfect place to get things underway!

• Mudmen – Bringing bagpipes and Marshall stacks together at last, the Mudmen have been fusing Celtic folk with beer soaked rock since 2000. The Mudmen’s song “Lost” can be heard on NBC's television commercials for The Black Donnellys.

• Edwin – After finding international success as the singer for I Mother Earth, Edwin embarked on a solo career in 1997. His hit single “Alive” sold platinum copies in Canada, and was used by the CBC for its coverage of the Olympic games. His latest release “Better Days” features a who’s who of Canadian and International talent, including Rush legend Alex Lifeson.

Other confirmed acts include:

• Revolver (featuring Nick Walsh from legendary Juno-winning Canadian rockers
Slik Toxik)
• Crash Kelly (featuring guitarist Sean Kelly, who recently recorded with
guitarist Gilby Clarke)
• Automan.ca (featuring Darrell "Dwarf" Millar from metal legends Killer
Dwarfs)
• Automatic (one Canada’s best upcoming rock bands)
• Ash Lee Blade (featuring members of local metal legends Tchort and Clovenblade)
• Crazy Babies (one of Canada's top tributes to Ozzy Osbourne)
• High Voltage (Y108’s Breakout Band Contest Winner)
• Sixes & Sevens (Toronto’s female-fronted Progressive Rock band)
• Basia Lyjak (‘Chick Rock’ with an all-star band)
• Fidget (5 punkin’ gals who love to rock out)
• Zone of Resistance

MQMusicFest also confirms appearances by Q107 and Uncle D - The Canadian Assman.

MQMusicfest takes place Sunday, August 19, 2007 at The Phoenix Concert Theatre, 410 Sherbourne Street, Toronto. Starting at 12:00 noon and lasting non-stop until 12:00 midnight. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.ca, The Phoenix Concert Theatre and from any band playing the festival.
